This article is super affirming! Years ago I started keeping a notebook in those little Field Notes notebooks, and to get past the feared first empty page I would write at the top “welcome to your thought lab” as a reminder of what that little book can be. It started growing practice that has spanned over 8 years!

I now call my notebook/sketch book/planner/commonplace book by another name pulled from Harry Potter… it’s my portable “room of requirement”. Best analogy for that little book I can think of.
